This relatively unknown botanical garden is located at the Rodman Hall Arts Centre, once part of the Thomas Rodman Merritt Estate. From its original designer, a landscaper from England, to more recent projects, the garden has resulted in a collection of exotic trees and plants amid extensive grounds on the embankment overlooking the Twelve Mile Creek. Designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, Montebello Park lies within the Queens Street Heritage district in downtown St. Catharines and is framed by Ontario and Lake Streets. Happy Rolph's Bird Sanctuary + My Favorites
Happy Rolph's Bird Sanctuary is a 6-hectare (15-acre) park that is home to hundreds of migratory and resident birds. A petting farm, open from May through October, is located on site and the park features a pavilion with picnic and playground areas.
